OIG Work Plan 2008
The Office of Inspector General has released the 2008 Work Plan. In addition to long term focus on areas such as incident to, new areas of focus include sleep studies, business relationships and the use of magnetic resonance imaging under the physician fee schedule, and geographic areas with high utilization of ultrasound services. Additionally, the OIG will be focusing on diagnostic tests performed in the emergency department. Providers are encouraged to perform probe audits of identified risk areas to ensure compliance.
